Breitling Repair
Breitling was founded by Léon Breitling in 1884 in St Imier with the specific purpose to develop chronographs and counters for scientific and industrial applications. In 1892, to face up to the unstoppable growth of his company, Léon Breitling decided to relocate his workshops to La-Chaux-de-Fonds, metropolis of the Swiss watch industry in those days. Louis Breitling died in 1914 and leaves his son Gaston Breitling in charge. One year later, Breitling creates the first wristwatch chronograph. Breitling is one of the leading premium watch brands that I repair and sell.
Repairing your Breitling Watch
Your Breitling watch is a high-precision instrument, and it needs to be serviced regularly for it to work perfectly. The service interval for Breitling watches is between 3 and 5 years regularly for it to work perfectly. Here are the types of repair Breitling recommends.
Partial Maintenance (whenever the battery is changed)
- Replacement of the gaskets using genuine Breitling parts.
- Restore water resistance back to Breitling factory requirement.
- Ultrasonic cleaning of case and bracelet
- Final check of all components
Complete maintenance: (every 3-5 years) as recommended by Breitling:
- The movement is completely disassembled; any worn or damaged parts are replaced with genuine Breitling parts.
- The watch is reassembled, oiled and timed to Breitling factory specifications.
- Replacement of all gaskets and restoration of water resistance to Breitling factory specifications
- Case and bracelet refinished to Breitling factory specs.
- Visual and technical inspection and then a final 72 hours test run.
- Final check of all components

Breitling Factoid
Breitling soon gained international recognition for their developments in aeronautical timing instruments. Their watches were so highly prized that the company was soon contracted to make the chronographs for the Royal Air Force. It was Breitling’s devices that kept time in some of the most infamous dogfights in the Second World War.
